Hunter Douglas - Poor design of spooling mechanism for PowerRise shades
Our PowerRise Duette shades are about 5 years old. 2 out of our 4 shades cannot be raised or lowered due to the spooling mechanism for the string pulls.
Basically, the spool rod has no guides for the pull strings. Therefore, randomly, the strings may become tangled or lodged underneath the clamps that hold the spool rod to the frame.
This will either prevent the shade from being raised, and if it is successfully raised, the string length is compromised which prevents the shade from being lowered completely. I would highly recommend not purchasing this type of power assisted shade.
