We ordered 23 motorized window shades and 3 door shades. This was supposed to be the newest technology from Hunter Douglas. The cool thing was the app you can down load to operate your shades when not home. That was the only thing that worked consistently. I was told that the motorized blinds that i got would eventually be able to open and close by using an app (without the need of being on my wifi- currently i only can use the app if i am at home) I paid a lot of money for them and now according to customer service they have a completely new system that if i wanted to have the new system (with the app the works with any wifi, I will have to buy the new shades). IF YOU BUY HUNTER DOUGLAS MOTORIZED BLINDS EXPECT THE STRINGS TO BREAK AT ABOUT 5 YEARS. THEN YOU HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE THEM RESTRUNG, THEY HAVE TO BE SHIPPED OUT AND YOU ARE WITHOUT A BLIND FOR AT LEAST 3 WEEKS. THEN YOU GET IT HOME AND IT BREAKS AGAIN... Anonymous That's why you have to be careful where you purchase your shades from. You have to make sure that the dealer offers repairs and comes to your home and remove them for you
